Last week I went with Paul Yates to visit his friend Lewis Rankin and we took some neat photos. Lewis needed a priest model for a project based on imitating the latest advertisements of Irn Bru drink like the one below.
So I came along and we shot some footage of me being dressed as a priest, drank some coffee. Selection of photos came out pretty decent so there was a lot of discussion about which one he should choose. We finally settled for the most pronounced one.
Photo from the priest session. Shot by Lewis Rankin, cropped and edited by myself. Version used in the project is black and white.
The original photo is placed next to a quote on orange background: "We all love to pour it down the throat at he the convents". Imitation is well made as it contains some controversial spice in the context of the photograph. Lewis also took care of the proper layout similar to the one that appears on the real Diet Irn Bru ads.
Real Diet Irn Bru ad photo was taken by Tomasz Augustyn.

We all know Open Knowledge Network events and we all think they are cool. Come on! Who doesn't have a tiny bit of a geek inside?
The vision of bringing enlightenment about various aspects of technology and art into Aberdeen is truly noble and I'm really happy to have such an event nearby. And seriously, so far the events were pretty amazing in content. Music and film production, Internet intricacies, game development, the mysteries of design, you choose. It is an event that you shouldn't miss.
Be sure to visit OKN's website for updates on the upcoming events. There is no set date for the next meeting yet so try to check regularly. Also here you can check my photos from the previous events at Peacock Visual Arts including OKN.
